8 April, Accra, Ghana — AfCFTA Secretary-General, H.E. Wamkele Mene, received the newly accredited Ambassador of the Republic of Angola to the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Rui Orlando Xavier, during a courtesy visit to the AfCFTA Secretariat.
During the meeting, the Secretary-General provided an update on the progress of AfCFTA implementation and expressed appreciation to H.E. President João Lourenço and the Government of Angola for their leadership and continued support, particularly during President Lourenço’s tenure as Chairperson of the African Union in 2025.
H.E. Rui Orlando Xavier commended the Secretary-General for the progress achieved thus far in the AfCFTA process and reaffirmed Angola’s commitment to supporting its successful implementation. He also extended an invitation to the Secretary-General to attend the 2026 Luanda International Trade Fair (FILDA 2026), scheduled for July 2026.
