Accra, Ghana, 6 November 2025. H.E. Wamkele Mene, Secretary-General of the AfCFTA Secretariat, met with representatives of the Idris Elba Foundation to discuss Akuna Wallet, a blockchain-powered platform designed to enable African creatives to receive global payments and royalties faster, at lower cost, and without the need for a bank account.

The meeting also explored opportunities for collaboration in advancing digital solutions that empower Africa’s creative sector and facilitate greater participation of artists and innovators in cross-border trade under the AfCFTA framework.
