Accra, Ghana, 18, November 2024 – A delegation from Côte d’Ivoire, led by Dr. Kalilou Sylla, Director General of Foreign Trade, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Wamkele Mene, Secretary-General of the AfCFTA Secretariat, to discuss the country’s progress in implementing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Agreement.
The discussions centred on reviewing Côte d’Ivoire’s achievements under the Agreement, identifying opportunities for expanding market access, and exchanging insights on best practices for successful implementation.
H.E. Wamkele Mene provided the delegation with an overview of the just-concluded Biashara Afrika 2024, commending Côte d’Ivoire’s commitment to advancing the objectives of the AfCFTA through its National Implementation Committee.
The delegation reaffirmed their unwavering dedication to the effective implementation of the AfCFTA Agreement, highlighting their determination to leverage its transformative potential for economic growth.
This engagement underscores the importance of collaboration between State Parties and the AfCFTA Secretariat in ensuring the successful realisation of a single African market.
