AfCFTA Implementation Gains Momentum: Botswana and The Gambia Gazette Their Provisional Schedule of Tariff Concessions (PSTC)

Accra, Ghana, 30 October – Building on the momentum of Biashara Afrika 2024 and the 2nd phase of the GTI. We are proud to announce that State Parties are accelerating the implementation of the AfCFTA to boost intra-African trade. Both Botswana and The Gambia have gazetted the AfCFTA Provisional Schedule of Tariff Concessions (PSTC).

Gazetting, or domesticating, is the formal announcement of new regulations, ensuring public transparency and informing stakeholders, such as businesses, organizations, and citizens of AfCFTA’s implementation steps. This move provides traders with clear and confirmed preferential treatment for their goods upon importation, aligning with each country’s tariff commitments under the AfCFTA regime.
