Diani, Kenya, 24 July 2025 — The AfCFTA Secretariat, in collaboration with the Office of the Special Envoy for Climate Change of the Republic of Kenya, is bringing together development finance institutions, government agencies, and strategic partners in Diani, Kenya from 24 to 26 July 2025 for the Africa Green Industrialisation Initiative (AGII) High-Level Technical Meeting.
The meeting builds on the momentum of the Nairobi Declaration and the launch of AGII at COP28, marking a pivotal step toward positioning Africa as a global hub for green manufacturing and sustainable industrialisation. With a focus on translating ambition into action, the discussions will prioritise:
Mobilising climate-aligned finance
Developing bankable projects and regional industrial clusters
Strengthening private sector participation
Operationalising the AGII Secretariat
Participants include Africa50, Afreximbank, the African Development Bank, Ecobank, Equity Bank, KCB, the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), and the Green Climate Fund, among others.
AGII reflects a bold shift in how Africa approaches industrialisation — centred on sustainability, innovation, and climate leadership. It represents a growing commitment to develop resilient, green industrial ecosystems driven by African priorities.
