Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, 12 July 2025 – In Malabo, a significant step was taken toward streamlining AfCFTA implementation and strengthening coordination among Regional Economic Communities (RECs) and Business Councils in pursuit of a unified, integrated Africa.
At the 3rd Coordination Meeting between the AfCFTA Secretariat, Regional Economic Communities (RECs), and Business Councils, the Secretary-General of the AfCFTA met with the Heads of RECs and Business Councils, following the conclusion of the 6th Senior Officials’ Meeting. During the meeting, the Heads of RECs and Business Support Organisations adopted the report of the preceding meeting and agreed on a road map to guide the coordination of AfCFTA implementation efforts.
This engagement underscores the pivotal role of RECs and business stakeholders as building blocks of Africa’s integration agenda and as key partners in advancing the objectives of the AfCFTA.
