Nairobi, Kenya, 6 June 2025– The Secretary-General of the AfCFTA Secretariat, H.E. Wamkele Mene, participated in the High-Level Consultative Meeting on the Africa Green Industrialisation Initiative (AGII), held at State House, Nairobi. The meeting, chaired by H.E. President William Ruto, marked a pivotal moment in advancing the AGII from vision to implementation.

Discussions centred on the mobilisation of finance and the development of a financing framework to support green industrial clusters across the continent. These clusters are expected to serve as engines for sustainable industrial transformation and economic growth under the AfCFTA framework.

H.E. Mene expressed appreciation to H.E. President Ruto for his leadership and for entrusting the AfCFTA Secretariat with a mandate to support the implementation of the AGII. He reaffirmed the Secretariat’s commitment to working closely with all stakeholders to ensure the successful operationalisation of the Initiative.
