Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, 13 May 2025-The Secretary-General of the AfCFTA Secretariat, H.E. Wamkele Mene, received a delegation from Ecobank Group in Abidjan, led by Mr. Michael Larbie, Group Executive for Corporate and Investment Banking.

The Ecobank delegation presented key financial initiatives undertaken by the bank to support women-led, women-owned and women-affiliated businesses across the continent. Discussions focused on exploring opportunities for collaboration with the AfCFTA Secretariat to scale these efforts within the framework of the AfCFTA Agreement.

H.E. Mene welcomed the bank’s commitment to inclusive trade and economic empowerment and underscored the importance of strategic partnerships that advance gender-responsive financing and enterprise development.
