Accra, Ghana, 18 July 2025 – The Secretary-General of the AfCFTA Secretariat, H.E. Wamkele Mene, paid a courtesy call on the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama.

During the visit, H.E. Mene provided an update on the current status of implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

As former Chair of the African Union High-Level Trade Committee, President Mahama played a pivotal role in the establishment of the AfCFTA. He reaffirmed his enduring commitment to its vision and objectives.

The Secretariat appreciates his continued support and his willingness to assist in advancing the goal of a more integrated and prosperous Africa.
