Abu Dhabi, UAE, 8 April 2025 – On the margins of the 2025 AIM Congress, H.E. Wamkele Mene, Secretary-General of the AfCFTA Secretariat, held a bilateral meeting with Dr. Stavros Nicolaou, Senior Executive for Strategic Trade Development at Aspen Pharmacare Group.

The discussion focused on the urgent need to harness the economies of scale offered by the AfCFTA to drive investment in Africa’s pharmaceutical and vaccine production capacity. Both parties reaffirmed the importance of coordinated trade and industrial strategies to build a resilient, self-reliant health sector across the continent.
