AfCFTA Secretariat and National Bar Association (USA) Sign MoU to Strengthen Legal Capacity and Deepen Diaspora Engagement

Accra, Ghana, 5 March 2025 – The AfCFTA Secretariat today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Bar Association (USA), marking a strategic step towards enhancing legal capacity, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), empowering youth, and strengthening diaspora engagement.

The partnership will leverage key instruments under the AfCFTA, including the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS) and the Protocols on Women and Youth in Trade, to advance inclusive trade and legal empowerment across the continent.

This collaboration underscores the AfCFTA’s commitment to building a self-reliant and rules-based economic future for Africa, with the diaspora playing an active and integrated role in that vision.
