Manila, Philippines, 12 March 2025 – On the sidelines of MOSIP Connect 2025, the AfCFTA Secretariat hosted a closed-door Breakfast Session with African digital identity authorities to discuss the AfCFTA Protocol on Digital Trade and its role in enabling seamless cross-border trade.

Participants exchanged best practices and highlighted the framework’s potential to enhance security, reduce fraud, streamline payments, and foster financial inclusion. There was a strong consensus on the urgency of accelerating its implementation across all State Parties to unlock the full benefits of Africa’s digital economy.
