Accra, Ghana, 7 February – H.E. Wamkele Mene, Secretary-General of the AfCFTA Secretariat, received H.E. Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, High Commissioner of Namibia to Ghana, on a courtesy visit to the AfCFTA Secretariat in Accra. Their discussions focused on the progress made in implementing the AfCFTA, including the recent conclusion of the eight annexes to the Protocol on Digital Trade, and ways to enhance Namibia’s participation in the Agreement.
During the meeting, H.E. Mene reaffirmed the Secretariat’s commitment to supporting Namibia’s implementation of the AfCFTA, ensuring that the country maximises the opportunities presented by the Agreement. The discussions underscored the importance of regional cooperation, trade facilitation, and Namibia’s role in intra-African trade, particularly in leveraging the AfCFTA framework for economic growth and industrialisation.
This engagement highlights the ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration between the AfCFTA Secretariat and State Parties, ensuring that all participating countries fully benefit from Africa’s single market.
