Davos, Switzerland, 21 January 2025 – On the margins of Davos 2025, AfCFTA Secretary-General, H.E. Wamkele Mene, met with Mr. Mohammed Akoojee, CEO & Managing Director, Sub-Saharan Africa, DP World, to explore opportunities for collaboration in transport, logistics, and customs digitisation.
The discussion focused on enhancing interoperability across Africa’s trade corridors to streamline cross-border trade under the AfCFTA framework. H.E. Mene emphasised the crucial role of efficient logistics and digital trade facilitation in accelerating the movement of goods and services across the continent.


DP World, as a key player in Africa’s logistics landscape, discussed potential areas of partnership to address trade bottlenecks, improve supply chain efficiency, and implement digital solutions to modernise customs processes.
The meeting reinforced the AfCFTA Secretariat’s commitment to working with the private sector to drive infrastructure development and strengthen Africa’s position in global trade.
