Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 9 November 2024: Sierra Leone is taking a key step in its AfCFTA participation by preparing to gazette its Provisional Schedules of Tariff Concessions (PSTCs), a crucial component for the country’s full integration into the AfCFTA framework. This significant update was shared by the Minister of Trade and Industry, Honourable Ibrahim Alpha Sesay, during a bilateral meeting with AfCFTA Secretary-General, H.E. Wamkele Mene, on the sidelines of the AfCFTA Council of Ministers Meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The Minister expressed his appreciation for the ongoing support of the AfCFTA Secretariat, which has played a pivotal role in helping Sierra Leone expedite its efforts to implement the AfCFTA Agreement. This collaboration is vital for ensuring that the country maximizes the benefits of the continental free trade area, advancing regional economic integration and trade facilitation.
