H.E. Wamkele Mene Participates in Afreximbank Strategy Review Retreat

H.E. Wamkele Mene, Secretary General of the AfCFTA Secretariat, participated in the Afreximbank Strategy Review Retreat. He delivered a technical presentation on the progress of AfCFTA implementation, focusing on unlocking the continent’s potential in a rapidly changing global landscape.

In his presentation, H.E. Mene underscored the critical role of Afreximbank as a key partner supporting the AfCFTA’s implementation. He highlighted several joint achievements, including the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS) and the AfCFTA Adjustment Fund, which aim to support intra-African trade. He also pointed to the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF), a platform connecting African buyers and sellers with global markets.

H.E. Mene expressed confidence in the continuing collaboration between the AfCFTA Secretariat and Afreximbank, emphasising its significance for advancing Africa’s trade and economic integration.

The strategy review retreat is designed to analyse external factors affecting Africa’s trade and development, and assess their impact on Afreximbank’s strategy and operations.
