Why You Should Join This Event
The objective of the AfCFTA Youth Symposium is to create a platform for youth across Africa to have direct interactions with the Secretary General of the AfCFTA Secretariat, policymakers, academia, and financial institutions. The interactions will create a platform for the exchange of ideas on innovation, entrepreneurship, and achieving structural transformation that creates an enabling environment for inclusive trading under the AfCFTA regime.
The event will be hybrid in nature to enable African youth on the continent and in the diaspora to engage with the AfCFTA Secretary-General, on matters that concern youth in trade. The Symposium will be solution-driven in its approach and showcase the innovative and entrepreneurial skills of youth in Africa.

Expected Results
The AfCFTA Youth Symposium aims to achieve
- Enhanced understanding of the objectives, principles, and scope of the AfCFTA by youth in trade;
- Linking youth producers and suppliers with potential partners and investors;
- Shared information on how to utilize trading tools under the AfCFTA regime;
- Leverage networking platforms for youth in trade; and
- The recommendations from the meeting will guide the implementation of the Protocol on Women and Youth in Trade.
