The AfCFTA Guided Trade is an initiative of the AfCFTA Secretariat to kick-start trade between and among countries that have signaled their readiness to commence commercially meaningful trade under the AfCFTA. The AfCFTA Secretariat is working closely with the Government of the Republic of Ghana, through the National Coordination Office, to facilitate Guided Trade and match-make export and import businesses from pilot countries.
The first Field Tour of the Guided Trade Initiative took place in Takoradi where the AfCFTA Secretariat, in collaboration with the Ghana National (AfCFTA) Coordination Office, Ministry of Trade and Industry of Ghana, the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), and the Ghana National
Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) organised a tour of companies in Takoradi in the Western Region of Ghana.
Following up on this, representatives from the AfCFTA Secretariat embarked on a second field visit to the Kotoka International Airport to receive a tour of the facilities. The purpose of this visit was to inspect the facilities at the airport and the premises where the event launch will be held on the 26th of September, 2022.
